This is an old loading chute in a valley near my childhood home. It is located next to Grass Valley Creek though not the Grass Valley, CA most people know about.

I think this may be one of my favorite pictures of my daughter yet. I love the expression on her face and the angle, the crisp colors, and negative space add interest. This will be one I cherish; her joy can light up anyone’s face.

Abby Good Girl

My daughter Annie, hugging her favorite doggie, Abby. Abigail is an Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees cross. We bought her to guard our livestock from predators. Abby has taken on that responsibility along with the protection of Annie. The really neat thing is that they get to grow up together, Annie is now a year, and Abby turns a year this month. Amazing the instinct this dog had at only four months, and still at 12.

Lipizzaner

I went to watch the Lipizzaners perform last Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed them. They are amazing stallions with amazing riders. Some day my dream is to go to Vienna, Austria and see them perform in the gorgeous arena and tour the stables.

My Boy

I went out and groomed the horses the other day and my boy, Sunnie, wouldn’t leave me alone. Every where I went he had his nose next to me, following me like a puppy dog. When he saw that I sped down the pasture on the quad shooting for the gate, he chased after.
